For over a decade, Vegan Outreach has been one the most active grassroots organizations working to reduce animal suffering by promoting cruelty-free eating. Jon will speak to us about simple, effective ways we can all make a difference for animals!

Leafleting Day
Help us pass out leaflets around campus about animal cruelty, factory farming, and vegetarian eating. Leafleting is a great way to raise awareness of the issues and promote compassionate food choices — especially if you're low on time and can't volunteer often!

Winged Migration
We kick off our month-long Through Other Eyes film festival with Winged Migration, an Academy Award nominee for best documentary that swoops you into the sky to travel side-by-side with birds as they fly thousands of miles across continents and oceans. Discussion led by Nico Dauphine, a representative from the local Audubon Society  and PhD student in wildlife biology with a research focus on bird  conservation in the tropics. Volunteer at the AAHS Valentine's Ball
Help volunteer at this fabulous ball to benefit the animals and programs of the Athens Area Humane Society! Volunteers needed not only during the ball, but also beforehand for set-up and afterwards for clean-up. Email Tatiana Barron if you'd like to help out!

El Caballo: The Wild Horses of North America
Our Through Other Eyes film festival continues with El Caballo: The Wild Horses of North America. This award-winning film documents one of the most complex wildlife management issues today and asks fundamental questions about the human relationship with wildlife species. Where do modern wild horses fit in our view of the natural world? Discussion led by Jessica Gullett, a third-year law student active in efforts to secure greater legal protections for horses. The third feature in our Through Other Eyes film festival, Best Friend Forgotten takes a behind-the-scenes look at the crisis of pet overpopulation. Party for Farm Animals
Everyone is invited to join a fun-filled vegan potluck and help raise funds to pass humane legislation to combat farm animal abuse. Come help support the Humane Society of the United States' efforts to pass more laws to reduce the suffering of farm animals and to shine a light on the most egregious and abusive practices in modern-day agribusiness.
